Welcome to the world of activity days, where the passion for football and the thrill of team camaraderie collide! As coaches, we know that building a strong, cohesive team is not just about perfecting tactical skills on the pitch; it's also about nurturing the bonds that tie players together both on and off the field. Activity days provide the perfect opportunity to do just that – creating an atmosphere where players can not only hone their athletic abilities but also form lasting connections with their teammates. Join us as we discover the various options for incorporating activity days into your football coaching regime, delving into a treasure trove of exciting and innovative ideas that strengthen team dynamics, boost morale, and lay the foundation for triumph both on and off the field. So, let's lace up our boots, get ready for some action, and embrace the journey of unifying the team through the power of activity days!

  1. Paintballing - Probably geared at the older players but painfully fun, literally.

  2. Inflataparks - These can offer an hour or 2 of fun for the kids with minimal coach involvement, allowing players to bond. Combine it with lunch somewhere or bowling and you've got yourself a great day out.

  3. Water activity courses (inflatables) - A summer activity but definitely worth visiting pre or post season.

  4. Trampoline parks - Similar to inflataparks the area you stay in may dictate which one is an option but worth considering both.

  5. Footgolf - Some sly extra training on connecting with the ball, okay maybe don't turn it into a coaching session and just let them have fun.

  6. Laser tag - Paintball for the younger players and pain free. Don't write this off, if you can find a good indoor place or better yet an outdoor one that also does other activities, your on to a winner.

  7. Beach volleyball - Simple, free and fun, grab your flip flops and get down the beach. Brilliant for fitness, so possibly a pre-season option, book a minibus and you've got some added teambuilding in the mix.

  8. Beach football - As above, if you can't access a volleyball net, take a few poles and have a kick about on the beach.

  9. Hill walking - Alright maybe not the most exciting for some kids but a great option nonetheless. Head up a local hill during pre-season but go armed with some fun games to play along the way, such as naming a player but the next person must use the last letter of their surname as the first letter of their players name.

  10. Assault course - Make your own on the pitch or head to an organised one, this is sure to get the fitness up and be great fun for payers of any age.

  11. Tough Mudder event - Get messy and complete a Tough Mudder or similar event together for charity or to fund raise for your club.

  12. 5k runs for charity - A park run or 5k run or better yet dribbling a mile in the local park for charity are a great way to bring the kids together to achieve a unified goal.

  14. Ice skating - Mix it up and try ice skating, some will be excellent, some will struggle to stand up but all will have a laugh and enjoy the activity.
